One of the most important things to remember when owning a wood burning or multi-fuel stove is the ongoing service and maintenance.

It’s recommended by all stove manufacturers and by HETAS that your stove is serviced and the flue system swept at least once a year.

Tar can build up in your flue whether it’s lined with a flexible chimney liner or you have a independent twin wall flue system. These build ups can reduce the efficiency of your stove and also lead to a chimney fire!

When a stove isn’t functioning properly, it can also increase the risk of generating carbon monoxide.
